Shredding Services

Shredding

Auburn University generates records that contain information that could be misused. Some examples are personnel records, student records, unused athletic tickets, financial records, and health records. Shredding of University records is available through Facilities Management to ensure the secure documents are recycled and disposed of properly.

Facilities Management hosts scheduled Document Shredding Days on campus from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Departments must drop off materials for shredding at the designated location between these times. Participating departments will be charged $3 per box for shredding and a labor fee if a pick-up is needed. Contact the Facilities Management Help Desk (844-4357) to submit a work order for pick-up.

All departments must prepare the Certificate of Records Destruction form in accordance with the instructions on the form. This Certificate must be submitted at least 72 hours before the scheduled shredding date.

Remove non-paper items like plastic sheet protectors, large binder clips (1 inch wide or greater) and 3-ring binders.
